About the event
We are holding a Bioblitz on July 14th in the Mt. Vernon Garden of Denver's Washington Park from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. This is a citizen science project where we will make observations of nature and upload them to the iNaturalist website. People can use either a phone camera or a normal camera to make the observations. Participants will want to download the iNaturalist app to their phone and then set up a free account before the event.
For the children, we will also be netting insects to view and then releasing them. Our team includes a DU professor and people familiar with using iNaturalist. Come and enjoy a lovely morning in one of Washington Park's native plant gardens.
Joining us for the event will be Julie Morris, Professor at DU Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.
